What is the time commitment?

Roughly [X hours per month], plus a one-time orientation and training. Sessions happen at the school site during program hours, so it fits around work and family.

Who can mentor?

Men 21 and older from any background. No degree required. You need to be consistent, present, and willing to be trained.

Is mentoring only for men?

This program recruits men specifically because the young men of Kut Different need male mentors. Kut Different has other ways for women to support — reach out and we will connect you.

Is there a background check and screening?

Yes. Every mentor completes an application, interview, references, and a background check before being matched. The safety of our young men comes first.

What training do I get?

A structured onboarding plus ongoing support: G.A.M.E. framework training, situational coaching, and a team you can call when something comes up.

Is there a cost?

No. Mentoring with Kut Different is free for mentors. We provide the structure, training, and materials.

How long is the commitment?

We ask for a minimum of one program year. Most mentors stay longer — relationships do their best work over time.

Where does mentoring happen?

At Kut Different school sites across Marion County, during scheduled program times.
